Abstract: For the analysis of square contingency tables with ordered categories, Goodman [3] considered the diagonals-parameter symmetry (DPS) model, which has a multiplicative form for cell probabilities. The present paper proposes the incomplete DPS model which has the structure of the DPS for the partial cells of off-diagonal cells except a specified pair of cells and in the table. The proposed model is useful for seeing the reason of the poor fit when the DPS model fits the data poorly. An occupational status data is analyzed. |
