Abstract: In this paper, an age-dependent branching renewable population is modelled and analysed. The population is subject to a constant effort of harvesting at random time points occurring according to a Poisson process with rate l. We explicitly obtain the mean number of individuals present at any time tand also solve the problem of optimal harvesting in the population by optimizing a net-profit function. |
