Abstract: We have developed probability statements for computing true errors associated with statistical process control of continuously distributed individual measurements. In addition, we present applications to gamma-distributed random variables and specific individuals control charts that suggest the following general conclusions. Generally, Type I errors decrease with the parameter q, and Type II errors decrease as the parameter k increases. For constant k, Type II errors decrease as the shift in does increase. |
Keywords and phrases: control chart, gamma distribution, individual measurements, Type I error, Type II error. |
