Abstract: Open-ended and close-ended
questionnaires are the two methods used in
political surveys. This research note offers a
new method, the deferred forced choice question,
which overcomes some of the disadvantages
associated with the other two methods, and
provides a better estimate of voter’s
preferences. The utility of this new method is
demonstrated in the context of Israeli politics. |
Keywords and phrases: political surveys, open-ended questions, close-ended questions, deferred forced choice questions. |
