Abstract: The study is aimed at to estimate risk factors and the most significant covariates of diabetes among adult women and men in Hotat Bani Tamim governorate. The study depended on the questionnaire in data collection, because of a lack of information about diabetes in the study area. The sample size consisted of 361 participants from different age groups. The study adopted the binary logistic regression model. The application of the model showed the important results: the overall prevalence of diabetes was 14.13% among the sample members, the prevalence of diabetes increased when the age increases, participants who were overweight or with obese were at high risk to get diabetes, blood sugar was found associated with diabetes but not the hypertension. The study recommended a regular check-up for diabetes to know the infection earlier and the need of establishment of information systems to follow the diabetes patients in the area of the study. |
