BAYESIAN ESTIMATION OF THE PARAMETER OF EXPONENTIAL DISTRIBUTION UNDER JEFFERY PRIOR

Abstract: The paper presents an estimation of the parameter of exponential distribution under Jeffery prior by adopting the squared error loss function (SELF), quadratic error loss function (QELF), weighted squared error loss function (WSELF), and precautionary error loss function (PELF). The performance of various estimators under the Bayesian model is then compared and presented in graphs using simulated data. It was observed that QELF provides a better result among various loss functions. |
