Abstract: Based on a group of variables and data collected during January 2019, the paper intended to give an idea whether or not the liver is cirrhosed. Cox model is applied where the dependent variable is binary that takes (zero) for liver cirrhosis and (1) for non-liver cirrhosis. The independent variables were: bilirubin, serum albumin, prothrombin time, gamma GT, platelet count and alkaline phosphatase. The exponential stepwise Cox regression model was applied. The results showed that the cirrhosis was influenced, respectively, by serum albumin, bilirubin, prothrombin time and platelet count. Also, the results showed that the average age of the most suffering patients from liver cirrhosis was 63 years. |
Keywords and phrases: liver cirrhosis, survival analysis, hazard rate, hazard function, Cox regression, Kaplan-Meier estimator.
