TYPE I HALF LOGISTIC POWER LOMAX DISTRIBUTION: STATISTICAL PROPERTIES AND APPLICATION

Abstract: A new three-parameter distribution extended from the power Lomax (PL) distribution, called the type I half logistic power Lomax (TIHLPL), is introduced for modeling lifetime data. Some statistical properties of the TIHLPL distribution are provided. Explicit expressions for the quntile, moments, incomplete moment, moment generating function, probability weighted moments and order statistics are studied. Maximum likelihood estimation technique is employed to estimate the model parameters presented. In addition, the superiority of the TIHLPL distribution is illustrated with an application to one real data set. Indeed, the TIHLPL model yields a better fit to these data than the other distributions. |
