SIMULATING BOILING-UP IN A LAYER OF SUPERHEATED LIQUID IN THE PRESENCE OF EVAPORATION FRONT
The authors consider liquid boiling-up in a superheated layer on the surface of a cylindrical heater at high superheating, when evaporation front is formed. A numerical technique is used to simulate the growth of the primary bubble and vapor cavity, formed behind the evaporation front. The calculations are performed both at saturation and bulk liquid subcooling. The results of numerical simulation are in good agreement with the available experimental data.
