THREE-DIMENSIONAL MIXED CONVECTIVE FLOW PAST A POROUS PLATE EMBEDDED IN A POROUS MEDIUM IN PRESENCE OF HEAT SINK
The problem of a three-dimensional mixed convective flow past a porous plate embedded in a porous medium in presence of heat sink with transverse sinusoidal suction velocity is discussed. The governing equations are solved by regular perturbation technique. The expressions for the velocity field, temperature field, species concentration, the skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number at the plate are obtained in non-dimensional forms. The velocity distribution, zeroth order skin friction, skin friction and amplitudes of first order skin friction, first order Nusselt number and first order Sherwood number at the plate are discussed graphically. It is seen that permeability parameter has significant effect on the flow and on the heat and mass transfer characteristics.
