Abstract: This paper theoretically analyzes the unsteady flow of
a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid past an infinite hot
vertical non-conducting porous plate embedded in a porous medium with mass
transfer in presence of constant suction, periodic variation of plate
temperature and a transverse magnetic field. The expressions for thevelocity, temperature, skin friction and rate of heat transfer in terms
ofNusselt number are obtained using
perturbation technique assuming the Eckert number as the perturbation parameter.
The effects of the magnetic parameter M,
Grashof number for heat transfer permeability
parameter Schmidt
number Prandtl
number Eckert
number etc. on
velocity, temperature and concentration profiles of the flow field and also on
the skin friction and rate of heat transfer are studied with the help of figures
and tables.
