VISCOUS HEATING EFFECT ON ELECTROOSMOTIC HEAT TRANSFER OF A NON-NEWTONIAN FLUID IN MICROCHANNELS
We present an analysis of the electroosmotic heat transfer of power-law fluids in a microchannel with viscous dissipation effect. Analytical expressions for temperature distribution and Nusselt number are presented for major parameters. Closed-form solutions can be obtained for special flow behavior indices (e.g., n = 1, 1/2, 1/3). The effect of viscous dissipation on the heat transfer has been analyzed. For the surface heating case, the result shows that increasing the Brinkman number tends to decrease the Nusselt number. In the case of surface cooling, singularities occur in the Nusselt number variations when the Brinkman number takes negative sign.
