INTEGRATION OF SPATIAL AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT INFORMATION FOR SUPPORTING EFFECTIVE FIREFIGHTING ACTIVITIES
As urban structures become larger, higher, and more complex, management of disaster and safety becomes more difficult and damage of lives and properties becomes greater. To address the problem, there is a need for disaster management using spatial information of urban structures. Most of the existing researches cover mostly outdoor spatial information, not or less considering indoor information and rarely discuss the construction and provision of spatial and safety information as a single integrated model. In this paper, we propose a method and systems to integrate safety information with indoor and outdoor spatial information and utilize this convergence information to support various firefighting activities. Specifically, the method addresses the following research problems: the need of (1) construction and management of contents that combine safety and spatial information; (2) utilization of pre-built data; (3) continuous update and management of the contents; and (4) provision of various customized firefighting activity services using the contents. The feasibility of the method was validated using prototypes implementing the method.
