OCEAN THERMAL ENERGY CONVERSION: ELECTROCHEMICAL WAY BASED ON SODIUM SULFATE CRYSTALLINE HYDRATES MELTING AND CRYSTALLIZATION
We developed a concept and calculated an efficiency of the electrochemical cycle of converting the low-grade heat with the temperature difference of 10-30°C into electricity at the temperature range 0-32°C. The calculations show that the efficiency of the converting heat into the electricity could reach up to 40-61% of the Carnot cycle efficiency. It was supposed that the suggested cycle is suitable for ocean thermal energy conversion.
