Abstract: Concentrated collectors have huge applications in solar energy field such as heating, cooling, power generation, and desalination. In this project, a solar dish water heater for desalting water was designed and analysed. The dish aperture area was 4.158m2 and the absorber was of copper one with 0.2077m2 area, 0.01m3 volume, and of 20 concentrating ratio. The water is heated to 110°C at an ambient temperature of 18°C. The stagnation temperature of the absorber reached 231°C and the time needed to reach that temperature is about 1800s. The result shows that the thermal efficiency was about 0.44. |
