Abstract: In the present paper, a three-dimensional transient CFD modeling of swirl fluidized bed drying is developed to simulate the drying process of coal particles. Three types of arranged blades with different angles of the guide vane are used to investigate pathline, particle track, temperature and relative humidity on air dryer, moisture content of particles and its drying rate. Coal particles and dry air are set in same parameter. Coal particles are injected into the domain as much as 600 grams on 50th to 60th second for about 10 minutes of simulated time. For AGV 10°, 20° and 30°, respectively, found that air dyer velocity, air dryer relative humidity at outlet and drying rate will lower, moreover air dryer temperature at outlet and particle moisture content will be higher. More particles will be fluidized in longer time due to reduction of weight and diameter of particles. On the AGV 10° it is also found that the particles will have a longer path and it took longer to reach the outlet. This would make the longer time for interaction with the air which having a low humidity from inlet and the drying process becomes faster. |
