Abstract: Influence of a magnetic field on entropy
generation in Poiseuille-Benard channel for the laminar flow of an
incompressible electrically conducting fluid is numerically investigated by
solving the mass, momentum and energy conservation equations. Numerical scheme
is based on control volume finite element method with the SIMPLER algorithm for
pressure-velocity coupling. Numerical simulations are performed for Reynolds
number ranging between 10 and 50 and Stuart number (describing the magnetic
field effect) ranging between 0 and 14. The irreversibility distribution ratio, ranges between 0.001 and 0.1.
Special case where and is discussed in details.
