Abstract: The numerical study to predict air flow patterns
and thermal environment characteristics in a window-less laying hen house was
performed. The numerical model of this study was simulated with parameters for
the inlet velocity, inlet temperature and the cage spacing length. It was
possible to predict, with 2.5% error, temperature distributions in a laying hen
house, by solving discretized conservation equations and using low Reynolds
turbulent model. Numerical results show that the case of inlet temperature with inlet velocity was better thermal
environment condition. On the contrary, the case of and inlet temperature was not good
thermal condition. The case with the cage spacing length 2.0 m
from the inlet and outlet wall was better air flow patterns.
