GSM BASED PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING OF PATIENT BY USING ZIGBEE
We present the Zigbee based smart noninvasive wearable device for monitoring physiological parameters wirelessly using GSM with different sensors such as heart rate, blood pressure, temperature and impact sensors. Heart rate sensor is to detect the heart beat level, blood pressure sensor is to check the blood pressure level, temperature sensor is used to sense the body temperature of the patient and impact sensor is used to identify the position of the patient, i.e., fall or not fall. This sensed information will be sent to ARM LPC2148 microcontroller, the on-chip ADC will convert analog signals to digital signals and then Zigbees are used to communicate the data between MC and PC, so the output status can be displayed in the PC. If the patient is medically distressed, then an alert message is sent to doctor’s mobile through GSM. The ability to monitor the health status of elderly patients or patients undergoing therapy enables significant advantages in terms of both cost and comfort of the subject.
