Many famous noise detection and reduction techniques – standard median filter (MF), adaptive median filter (AMF), decision based algorithm (DBA), modified decision based unsymmetric trimmed median filter (MDBUTMF) and improved mean filter (IMF) – actually deal with a small square window, especially a  window. The proposed scheme reduces complex pixels selection and a difficult calculation. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme performs in terms of PSNR better than many varied techniques.
