NEW MODIFIED CHANNEL ESTIMATION TECHNIQUE FOR ICI CANCELLATION IN WAVELET BASED OFDM
FFT based OFDM uses cyclic prefixing, which wastes 20% of the bandwidth and has lesser orthogonality among frequency components. This problem is addressed by wavelet based OFDM that has better orthogonality and does not require cyclic prefixing. Still inter-carrier interference is prevalent in wavelet based OFDM. Among various ICI cancellation techniques, modified channel estimation has been employed in this paper. Compared to equalization, channel estimation has an advantage of lesser complexity and does not waste bandwidth, which generally happens in self-cancellation.
