DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF METAMATERIAL ANTENNA WITH EBG LOADING
Two novel metamaterial antennas are designed to operate in the C-band applications. Antenna 1 is composed of monopole radiator with rectangular shape and I-shaped strips between the radiating element to the substrate forming metamaterial structure. Antenna 2 is integrated with EBG structure on the ground plane of antenna 1. Antenna 1 is designed to operate at 4.2GHz and by placing EBG structure in the ground plane dual resonant modes with good impedance matching is achieved. The proposed models have numerous advantages like simple design, compact in nature and can be applicable in the communication systems.
