THE CROSS-MODAL EFFECT OF AUDIOVISUAL INTERPOLATION ON MULTIMEDIA QoE OVER IP NETWORKS
This paper investigates an audiovisual spatiotemporal quality tradeoff by means of output schemes on QoE in audio-video IP transmission. For audio output schemes, we employ a concealment scheme of lost audio packets and a non-concealment scheme. The audio concealment scheme makes use of packet copy of just before lost packets, while the other scheme just mutes the duration of lost packets. For video output schemes, we assume an error concealment scheme and a frame skipping scheme. We conduct an experiment with the combination of the audio and video output schemes for several contents. As a result, we see that the effect of spatiotemporal quality tradeoff of audio and video is differentiated by contents and output schemes.
