In this paper, we develop a lattice structure, than the transversal structure, of two-dimensional (2D) Laguerre filters for image signals by modifying the 2D Laguerre filters proposed in author’s previous paper [11]. In fact, we propose a new filter called “2D Laguerre lattice filters.” As a well-known fact, all the filter coefficients of a filter with a transversal structure must be updated when the model order of the filter is increased. On the other hand for a filter with a lattice structure, only the highest order coefficients will be updated when the model order is increased, which drastically simplify the construction process of the desired filter than with the transversal structure.
