A novel and generalized multiphase sinusoidal oscillator employing the second current controlled current conveyors (CCCIIs) is proposed. The oscillator can generate arbitrary n (n can be odd or even) sinusoidal signals equal in amplitude as well as equally spaced in phase. The proposed circuit consists of CCCIIs, n grounded capacitors and resistors. The oscillation condition and oscillation frequency are independently controlled. The dependency of the former on the input resistance of the input ports of the CCCII makes electronic tenability possible using the bias currents. The latter depends on the grounded capacitor. The circuit also enjoys having simple structure and very low component count and it is highly suitable for monolithic implementation. PSPICE simulation results of three-phase and four-phase oscillators are given to verify the theoretical analysis.
