REVIEW AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF PAPR AND BER REDUCTION TECHNIQUES IN SC-FDMA SYSTEM
Single carrier FDMA (SC-FDMA) is an efficient and alternative form of OFDMA. It is being used in the communication channels due to the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of OFDMA. The PAPR and bit error rate (BER) of SC-FDMA also increase with the fading effects of multipath components. Space-time block codes (STBCs) are the simplest types of codes that use the diversity technique with numerous transmit antennas. It is one of the coding schemes which is used to lessen the fading effects by boosting-up the strength of the transmitted signal. To improve BER and PAPR performance, various techniques are employed, which include our previous research on time domain partial transmit sequence (TPTS) scheme with bacterial foraging phase factor optimization algorithm (BFPFO). This paper reviews and compares various PAPR reduction techniques of SC-FDMA system with the proposed BFPFO technique in terms of PAPR and BER parameters.
