THE INTRUSION DETECTION PREVENTION SYSTEM AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS VIA INTERNET PROTOCOL TELEVISION (IPTV) USING SNORT RULE
This paper proposed the Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) technique for preventing network intrusion and testing its performance in internal attack. The performance analysis of the network intrusion prevention system via Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) focuses on the prevention of Denial of Service (DoS) attack that aims to destroy the host computer that is available to users. The Snort is also applied to use in the IPTV. From the experimental results, the IPS of TCP protocol attacked over a wired network by using Multicast IP Address has the most effective results. It detects attack packets up to 39,389 packets. Therefore, the IPS can be applied to reduce, delay, and prevent the intrusions effectively.
