CHARACTERISTICS ENHANCEMENT OF MICROSTRIP PATCH ANTENNA BY USING METAMATERIAL RINGS
An electrically small and dual-band patch antenna using double split-ring resonator (SRR) is proposed. This antenna is designed to work on 2.5 GHz. The bandwidth of proposed antenna is extended by SRR and provides dual-band operation at 2.5-2.6 and 4.3-5.5 GHz with reflection coefficient better than −10 dB. The minimum return loss −35 dB and maximum directivity 4.2 dBi are achieved. Finally the antenna is fabricated and tested. The measured and simulated results match to a great extent.
