In the present scenario with the ever increasing number of vehicles, management of available parking spaces is a complicated affair. In most institutions, the management of parking systems is done by a parking collector or an automated system where the cars have to stop before the entrance in a line to collect the parking ticket. Both the methods have numerous drawbacks including additional requirement of manpower and the time consuming nature of such processes. Our paper aims to develop a smart parking system which automatically checks and authorizes a person to park at a particular spot with the use of an RFID tag, without having to scan the card at an external station.
