OPTIMAL CURRENT CONTROL METHOD FOR EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENT OF BLDC MOTOR
This paper proposes an optimal current control method for improving the efficiency of brushless direct current (BLDC) motor. The proposed method is based on the maximum torque point analysis of finite element analysis (FEA). With the proposed method, motor efficiency is improved under the same output torque, because input current is decreased. The prototype of a 50[W] class motor drive has been developed which is experimented by a dynamometer set to verify the usefulness of the proposed method.
