MULTI-AGENT TECHNOLOGIES FOR CONTROL OF DISTRIBUTED GENERATION PLANTS IN THE ISOLATED POWER SYSTEMS
Pilot projects of the grids based on the concept of smart grids can be implemented in the isolated power systems (IPS). The important components of these systems are distributed generation (DG) plants. Efficient operation of the IPS requires an automatic system capable to optimally control these plants. Such a system can be constructed on the basis of agents.
The paper presents a structure of the multi-agent control system (MACS) for DG plants. The main functions of the agents are discussed. The system of differential equations describing the processes in the IPS with DG plants is presented. A model of an IPS controlled by the multi-agent system is developed using the simulation tool AnyLogic. The results of the modeling demonstrated positive effects gained owing to the MACS. Also, the system adaptability to varying conditions and applicability of the multi-agent technologies to design of an intelligent power supply system are shown.
