ELIMINATING DOPPLER SHIFT IN HIGH SPEED RAIL COMMUNICATIONS
This paper proposes a method to eliminate Doppler shift in high speed rail (HSR) communications by using four directional antennas on board and a switch for choosing 2 of 4 antennas based on railway scenarios. The proposed method is not only suitable for the fastest speed trains but also provides continuous communications even if the handover is failed. The simulation results show that almost Doppler shifts are cancelled. The largest residual Doppler shift is only 0.4Hz at two locations on a cell of 1000m radius with the speed of train 540km/h.
