TRAINING AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS SYSTEM FOR CAR DRIVERS USING FUZZY LOGIC SYSTEM
With the rising death toll due to road accidents, more and more focus is now being placed on road safety. A large percentage of these road accidents are caused due to lack of good driving skills. In this article, we propose an alternate method to assist in curbing road accidents by eliminating driver’s incompetence. The training and performance analysis system is designed to make the driver aware about their current level of driving performance along with the inefficiencies involved. It also suggests solutions for improvement on real time as well as offline basis. The main aim here is to provide proper training to driver so as to avoid accidents by improving their basic driving skills. The proposed system has two modules: one for data acquisition and other for processing acquired data. The data acquisition module will acquire driving parameters from car over controller area network (CAN) bus. This data will be recorded and then subjected to a detailed analysis. The data processing module is based on fuzzy logic which will evaluate the performance on a scale of 0% to 100% using the recorded data. This system is meant for untrained drivers but can also be used by trained ones to keep a check on their driving skills. The system has been successfully tested on multiple drivers and experimental results are presented.
