Internet of Vehicles is an emergence of IoT and VANET (vehicular ad-hoc network) for implementing not only ITS but supporting many other research areas. IoV is two tier system where VANET will work as subsystem and IoT will provide Internet to VANET through Access Points and backend Database and Data Mining techniques. IoV shall be capable of attaining attention and focus from Automobile Industry and Information Technology Industry, for which VANET was not able to. In this paper we present an overview on IoV and describe that, how the generated data should be collected and can be used as a resource for various research areas.
