SOLITARY WAVES IN LASER PRODUCED PLASMA
The development of a self-focused light filament in fully ionized plasma is revisited by numerically solving the wave equation in the paraxial approximation using a two-fluid model. Transient effects in the laser beam and plasma are studied by taking into account, in a self-consistent manner, the proper motion of the plasma in an intense electromagnetic wave. The behavior of light filaments at the three wavelengths1054nm (red light), 527nm (greenlight) and 351nm (blue light) are compared. It is shown in each case multiple solitons exist which are due to self-focusing of the beam in laser produced plasma.
