THE MOMENTUM CONSERVATIVE SCHEME FOR WAVE RUN-UP ON A SLOPING BEACH
Several numerical schemes have been developed for the purpose of predicting wave run-up for various types of beaches. In this study, we adopted the momentum conservative scheme for shallow water flow and conducted several run-up simulations on a plane beach. Wet and dry procedure is applied to incorporate the moving boundary. The accuracy of the implementations is shown by comparing the run-up simulation of periodic wave with the Carrier-Greenspan analytical solution. Moreover, the numerical computation predicts the run-up amplitude that agrees with the analytical formula. Good agreement with experiment is obtained in the simulation of solitary wave run-up.
