IMPACT OF VISCO-ELASTICITY OF MHD FREE CONVECTIVE FLOW PAST A VERTICAL SURFACE EMBEDDED IN A POROUS MEDIUM
The steady motion of an incompressible, electrically conducting visco-elastic fluid through a porous medium bounded by a vertical infinite surface in the presence of an external magnetic field acting in a direction normal to the flow has been discussed. There is no external electric field imposed on the system and the magnetic Reynolds number is very small. The simultaneous effect of heat and mass transfer is considered into account. The governing equations of the problem are solved by perturbation technique. The approximate solutions have been derived for velocity, temperature, shear stress, Nusselt number and Sherwood number. The influence of visco-elasticity on the fluid velocity, temperature and wall shear stress has been illustrated graphically due to frequent and wide occurrence of non-Newtonian fluid behaviour in a diverge range of applications both in nature and in technology.
