INVARIANT NORMS ON THE SUBALGEBRAS OF C(X) CONSISTING OF BOUNDED FUNCTIONS WITH COUNTABLE IMAGE
For a subalgebra A of we show that the sup-norm on A is invariant if and only if all dense ideals in A have dense cozero-sets in X. Moreover, we show that the maximal ring of quotients Qc(A) of A is metrically dense in the maximal ring of quotients Qc(X) of Cc(X).
