FIXED POINTS OF HOMOTOPY IDEMPOTENTS ON A WEDGE OF CIRCLES

Abstract:

We characterize homotopy idempotents defined on the wedge of two circles. This characterization is then used to compute the Nielsen theory for homotopy idempotents, providing an alternate proof of the Bass Conjecture for the free group on two generators.
