Abstract: Some clinical trials are designed with simultaneous evaluations of non-inferiority and superiority in sequence testing methods comparing efficacy of multiple endpoints or multiple treatment groups. In such designs, no formal theoretical evaluations in the preservation of family-wise type-I error rate (FWER) are yet available. This paper examines at these situations and attempts to provide a theoretical framework in issues of controlling FWER. |
Keywords and phrases: family-wise type-I error rate (FWER), simultaneous testing, sequence testing methods. |
