Abstract: Rapid heat removal from heated surfaces and reducing material weight and cost become a major task for design of heat exchanger equipments. Heat dissipation is a drastic issue to tackle due to continued integration, miniaturization, compacting and lightning of equipment. Development of super heat exchangers requires fabrication of efficient techniques to exchange great amount of heat between surface such as extended surface and ambient fluid. This paper reports preview of the convective heat transfer analysis of solid pin fins, solid plate fins, perforated plate and perforated pin fins, and experimental and numerical investigations. It is observed that many investigators evaluate corresponding pressure drop, friction factor, heat transfer coefficient, Nusselt number, Reynolds number and effectiveness of fins. The main objective of this paper is to survey the relevant literature on the proposed work to investigate experimentally, the thermal performance of perforated plate fin arrays on horizontal base by forced convection. The experimental results will be validated with CFD simulation. |
