WELL-POSEDNESS OF MULTI-CARRIER SYSTEMS

Abstract: Parabolic two-step micro heat transport equations have been widely applied for thermal analysis of thin metal films exposed to picosecond thermal pulses. Nonequilibrium heating at the microscale concept has been extended to porous media with the incorporation of multi-carrier systems. As investigations to medical applications involve the use of femtosecond lasers, the description of the physical mechanisms is of great interest. In this study, we consider a 3-carrier system as a special case of the general N-carrier system and the well-posedness of the problem is studied within the context of spherical structure for an accurate modeling of the physical phenomenon. A well-posedness theorem is derived for the 3-carrier case and the solution technique for the general N-carrier case is obtained. |
