Abstract: In this paper, the relative efficiency of the proposed estimator has been compared with the existing estimators in single phase unequal probability sampling using Thompson [17] and Midzuno [11] selection procedures. The populations with high, moderate and low (+ve, –ve) correlation between study and auxiliary variable have been considered for the numerical study. In case of single phase single auxiliary variable, it is revealed that the proposed estimator is relatively more efficient than the existing estimators like Classical Ratio (1940), Sisodia and Dwivedi [15], Singh and Taylor [14] Solanki et al. [16], and Bhal and Tuteja [2] in all types of populations under study and sample sizes. |
