GALVANIC CELLS WITH CONSIDERABLE DEPENDENCE OF SEEBECK COEFFICIENTS ON TEMPERATURE: THE EFFICIENCY OF CONVERTING LOW-GRADE HEAT INTO ELECTRICITY

Abstract: Observing that some galvanic cells consume less heat that predicted by the equation azFT, where “a” is a Seebeck coefficient, we pronounce a hypothesis that this effect is possible in cells, where absolute value of Seebeck coefficient grows with temperature. Such cells seem to be suitable for converting low-grade heat into electrical energy because of their rather high efficiency. According to our assumption, the effect of efficiency grows because the entropy leaves the system with electromagnetic waves in radio diapason generated during crystallization processes. |
