Abstract: A problem of MHD flow of an incompressible, viscous, electrically conducting fluid past a suddenly started infinitely long inclined plate with ramped parabolic velocity in the presence of appreciable thermal radiation of Rossland type, first order homogeneous chemical reaction and thermal diffusion is studied. A uniform magnetic field is assumed to be applied transversely to the direction of the flow. The magnetic Reynolds number is assumed to be small enough to neglect the induced hydromagnetic effect on the flow. The resultant governing equations are solved adopting Laplace transform technique in closed form. Numerical computations are carried out for velocity, temperature, concentration, skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number by assigning some admissible and realistic values to the parameters involved and the results are displayed graphically. The aim of the present work is to study the effect of ramped parameter on the flow and heat and mass transfer characteristics. |
