Abstract: In this paper, we examine the impacts of the quality of digital images and the technological suitabilities on the viewing experiences of the exhibition, Renoir: Scent of a Woman (2018), through a survey based on the technology acceptance model. Our findings show that the suitability for new media technology, projection mapping, and the resolution of digital images had an impact on the factors of Ufl and Ufa in Pu. In particular, when the resolution of digital images is suitable, the value of Pu can be increased. This study verifies the importance of the suitability of the resolution of the digital image as well as the suitability of technology applied in the digital exhibition. While requiring further research, the study shows significant proof of digital exhibitions being a suitable art appreciation medium that generates an auratic experience and a sense of immersion, leaping its former value as a tool to foster learning. In conclusion, the value of digitally recombined artworks depends on the sophistication of the technologies used in order to prevent distortion of aura and authenticity. |
