Abstract: In this research, five systems of glass ceramic were composed of hydroxyapatite, alumina and silica in different molar percent, by using the effective mechanical mixing (EMM) method. The effect of change in composition ratio and sintering process on mechanical properties and on phases were studied. The effect of sintering on density, porosity and on nucleation process was also discussed. The X-ray diffraction analysis for all systems before and after sintering was presented and discussed in this research, the morphology of these systems was also investigated by atomic force microscope (AFM). Mechanical properties such as compressive strength and Vickers hardness were also discussed for all systems. The results present new phases such as mullite and anorthite. The optimal values for Vickers test and compression strength have appeared for the second system and these values are 946Hv and 170MPa, respectively. |
