Abstract: This work presents numerical simulation outcomes for the thermal, effective and exergetic efficiencies of an air channel as a function of various baffles roughness shapes provided on the heated plate. A methodology for the calculation of thermal, effective and exergetic efficiencies of the air channel has been established on the basis of Nusselt number and pressure drop correlations established by the various investigators. A program was also established for the calculation of thermal, effective and exergy efficiencies. The final outcomes from this numerical simulation technique are compared with various baffle shaped air channels. It is found that the outcome of multi-V-pattern baffle is the greatest in performance over the entire range of design conditions. |
