LINEAR ELEMENT APPROXIMATION FOR SOLVING MULTIPARAMETER EIGENVALUE PROBLEM
The purpose of this paper is to estimate actual values of the parameters of a three-parameter eigenvalue problem in the form of an ordinary differential equation. Finite element method (FEM) is applied to obtain the approximate values of the parameters. Using those approximate values as starting values in the corresponding shooting method of the problem, actual values can be obtained. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the method.
