We resolve a problem posed by Melvyn Nathanson concerning the conditions for extending the support base P of solutions of the functional equations arising from multiplication of quantum integers. Furthermore, we also give an explicit construction of the new polynomials when such an extension exists and pose a new problem which arises from our work.
